Me and my mom are a lot alike.
We have similar quirks, we have the same curly hair,
the same sense of humor, and also many of the same insecurities and mental health struggles.
We took a road trip in March of 2021, and it was
so liberating and cathartic for both of us. Wandering aimlessly through Utah’s National Parks, we found
peace and strength in the isolation.
One week later, I watched Chloé Zhao’s Nomadland and haven’t felt such a connection to a film in a very long time.
Shot on an iPhone and set to Ludovico Einaudi’s score, this a tribute both to the film and my mom, and the priceless moments we shared together.
“I’ll see you down the road.”
